Excerpts: The Butterfly Hunter by Chris Ballard

By: Dylan Schleicher @ 9:34 PM – Filed under: Management & Workplace Culture

Okay, we've been slacking a bit lately on running excerpts. This one comes in a bit different form. It's over on the site we care for, a site that if you haven't been there, you should go to right now (and I say this all biases aside because I followed it long before working here); it's ChangeThis. A description might hinder its message so just check it out. [advertisement done] Now about the book, it's called The Butterfly Hunter. The subject is people who find careers on the edges -- the fascinating careers you always wonder about but never actually know who's doing them. Careers like Spiderman (hgih-rise window washers and damage assessers) and, literally, a butterfly hunter. The one featured in this excerpt is an eyeball artisan, a man who designs fake eyeballs. Check it out; click here to download the pdf. I promise it will make you wonder what else is out there for a career.
