Book: Confronting Reality: Doing What Matters to Get Things Right Authors: Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan Reviewer: johnmoore (from the Brand Autopsy blog) Does Confronting Reality suffer from sequelitis? I ask because a few years back Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan co-authored Execution, a business book best seller that focused on execution being THE critical element between strategic plans and their tactical outcomes. But now, the authors have come to the understanding that baking realism into a companys business plan is more important than execution in achieving effective results.

Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done, the first book by Larry Bossidy and Ram Charan (which I have not read), was highly lauded and three years later still manages to occupy prime shelf space in brick-and-mortar bookstores and so it was with high expectations that I turned to the first page of their follow-on book, Confronting Reality: Doing What Matters to Get Things Right. All is for naught if you are executing against a business model that is increasingly obsolete in the global marketplace, and so I suspect Confronting Reality was written to make sure that you're not racing a hundred miles an hour. .
