News & Opinion: James Surowiecki Visits The Blog

By: Dylan Schleicher @ 1:39 PM – Filed under: Management & Workplace Culture

I want to let everybody know that James Surowiecki will be joining us on Thursday. He will be talking about his new book The Wisdom of Crowds. I have been reading it and I can't help making comparisons to The Tipping Point. The subject matter covers a wide range of disciplines. The Wisdom of Crowds takes place at the intersection of psychology, communication, group behavior, and decision making. Surowiecki draws on examples ranging from ABC's Millionaire to Linux to the National Football League. If you want a small head-start, pick up a copy of Wired and find the article titled "Smarter Than the CEO" by Mr. Surowiecki on page 87 (sorry, it's not on-line yet). Update: The article is online. You can find it here. Thanks to Media Guerilla for finding it.
