News & Opinion: Surviving Your Serengeti

By: Dylan Schleicher @ 9:06 PM – Filed under: Management & Workplace Culture

Do you want to overcome a challenge?
Do you have a goal to achieve?
Would you like to discover your instinctive strengths?

These are good questions, and their answers are elaborated upon in the recent book by Stefan Swanepoel titled Surviving Your Serengeti: 7 Skills to Master Business and Life. A fable of self-discovery, the book uses the metaphor of the African wildebeast making it's 1,000 mile migration with countless challenges along the way - many of which determine the survival of the animal.

From this, Swanepoel gathers 7 skills to overcome these challenges, which have parallels to business and life: efficiency, strategy, communication, endurance, and more.

As a narrative, it's a well written and thought out story, and the lessons are individualized as you interact with the story on a personal level. Read it and become better prepared for your own trek across your Serengeti.
